Where do half-casters land? Because I'll happily stay locked to just playing Paladin.

Still relatively new so I start with "I want to explore this class", but then I always give them a core plot hook. Paladin thrown out in training, Blood Hunter fell victim to a cult, Druid who corrupted his grove, Monk who rejects the family legacy to just party.

Felora, someone my character led into a nasty situation that got her hurt and dishonorably discharged, showed up as a guard in our starting town. Told the group they would be better off without me.

DM: *introduces the BBEG*
Players: Are they hot?

You would think Kalista, our warlock, would be an easy answer. She did makeovers already for our rogue and fighter/cleric. But then she proposed sanding down my (tiefling) horns and now I'm not so sure.
