Fiber craft enthusiast, with a soft spot for doilies. I knit, crochet, occasionally dabble in cross stitch, and just started learning tatting. She/her/hers
A quick little motif is always a fun pick-me-up

I kinda got away from crafts for a while (I’m pregnant now and the first trimester absolutely obliterated my energy) but I am finally tatting again (for at least the next 5 months 😅)!

One of my mom’s friends wanted some tatted betta necklaces for his grandkids, so I played around with variations

Further adventures in putting tatted objects in resin—this time I made a fishbowl!

Was bored last night so I took new photos of a couple of my vintage crochet doilies, and edited the hell out of them to make pop art collages

I wasn’t going to share these because I’m still figuring out the technique, but since it’s International Tatting Day…

Here are my early attempts at casting tatted motifs in resin!

Made this on St. Patrick’s Day but didn’t get around to posting until now. From a chart I found on Pinterest pin.it/1lCafyyPr

I made earrings! I’m very satisfied with the ratio of how good they look vs. how easy they were to make.

Not the best photos, since I finished this at night and immediately took pictures in the crappy light of my apartment, but here is my experiment tatting around a piece of decorative glass (using size 10 Lizbeth thread).

Tatted heart! Patten is “Heart’s Desire” by Susan K. Fuller; I used a diagram made by Le Blog de Frivole.

The thread is Aunt Lydia 10 in “Mexicana” colorway. It was the only true “rainbow” thread I could find, so if you know of others please share!

I’m really enjoying these knotting shuttles I got from SongSpinnerUK on Etsy. Knotting itself is a relaxing (if unfortunately named) fidget activity, plus the big shuttles allow experimentation with tatting thicker fiber (here’s a motif in worsted weight yarn next to the same pattern in s10 thread)

Tatted motif from a pattern I found on Pinterest. If you spot the mistake don’t tell anyone. 👀

Not sure what to actually do with all the little tatted things I’ve been making lately, so for now most of them are going on the corkboard strips above my desk

Another tatted bookmark, this one from the DMC Book of Charted Tatting Patterns by Kirstine Nickolajsen & Inge Lise Nikolajsen. Thread is Lizbeth size 20 in “Butterfly Breeze” colorway

First Tunisian crochet project—a little bag to hold my tatting on the go.

First tatted bookmark (and first complete project with size 20 thread). Made a few mistakes but it’s better than the CVS receipts that usually go in my books

Just got a Handy Hands Starlit tatting shuttle (pictured next to my first set of tatting shuttles for scale) and I am in love. I can finally use my size 30 crochet thread without reloading my shuttle every 2 inches!

Experimenting with handkerchief edgings—and learning the perils of tatting with size 10 crochet thread while using a tiny shuttle.

No pattern, but the design is taken from an edging featured on Le Blog de Frivole in 2012. leblogdefrivole.blogspot.com/2012/06/atta...
