I kinda got away from crafts for a while (I’m pregnant now and the first trimester absolutely obliterated my energy) but I am finally tatting again (for at least the next 5 months 😅)!

Further adventures in putting tatted objects in resin—this time I made a fishbowl!

Was bored last night so I took new photos of a couple of my vintage crochet doilies, and edited the hell out of them to make pop art collages

Not the best photos, since I finished this at night and immediately took pictures in the crappy light of my apartment, but here is my experiment tatting around a piece of decorative glass (using size 10 Lizbeth thread).

Tatted heart! Patten is “Heart’s Desire” by Susan K. Fuller; I used a diagram made by Le Blog de Frivole.

The thread is Aunt Lydia 10 in “Mexicana” colorway. It was the only true “rainbow” thread I could find, so if you know of others please share!

I’m really enjoying these knotting shuttles I got from SongSpinnerUK on Etsy. Knotting itself is a relaxing (if unfortunately named) fidget activity, plus the big shuttles allow experimentation with tatting thicker fiber (here’s a motif in worsted weight yarn next to the same pattern in s10 thread)
three knotting shuttles-devices consisting of two large plastic ovals, held together by a central column around which thread can be wound. They are similar to tatting shuttles, except larger and without the curved touching ends. One knotting shuttle is black with gold planets and stars on it, one is made to look like wood with an inlaid flower design, one is black with white flowers. the faux-wood shuttle has a white cotton thread coming out of it, the end of which is textured with a series of knots. the black-with-flowers shuttle is lying on its side, showing that it is wound with rainbow thread small tatted flower motif in white, blue, and light green cotton thread, next to roughly 4-times larger flower motif made with turquoise yarn. below the small motif is a standard blue plastic tatting shuttle, about 2.5 inches long and ¾ inches wide. below the large turquoise motif is the black knotting shuttle with a gold stars and planets design; the knotting shuttle is about twice as large as the tatting shuttle.

Not sure what to actually do with all the little tatted things I’ve been making lately, so for now most of them are going on the corkboard strips above my desk

First Tunisian crochet project—a little bag to hold my tatting on the go.

Just got a Handy Hands Starlit tatting shuttle (pictured next to my first set of tatting shuttles for scale) and I am in love. I can finally use my size 30 crochet thread without reloading my shuttle every 2 inches!
