Maybe one day we'll get the best possible version of that story then.
In the mean time I wanna recommend that author's Twilight Zone credits since he wrote some good episodes of that. Steel, Nightmare @ 20,000 Feet, Death Ship and a few others. Guy did some good stuff.

I just wouldn't mind an adaptation that keeps the ending of the book in tact. The Will Smith version famously destroys the whole big twist of the book and just cheapens the whole thing. Things can be improved, including the book itself and some of its weaker ideas. Do you know the twist already?

I still haven't seen Blacula, but its on the itinerary.
I also think the first adaptation of I Am Legend came out in the 70s too. Stars Charlton Heston and it's called The Omega Man for some reason. Haven't seen it but it can't be any crummier than the Will Smith movie.

I agree but not for this movie because it sucks a lot more than the promise of kung fu vampires would have you believe.
Also they couldn't even get Christopher Lee back for this one to play Drac so he couldn't even carry it. Cushing tries god bless but it just ain't the same.
