the old fire soup recipe (pork and daikon soup) from Made With Lau is so nostalgic for me. they made it for staff meal sometimes at the Chinese restaurant I worked at in high school/college. they often used winter melon instead of daikon.
plus that zucchini pasta is so flavorful it was surprising.

Next up was a two for one recipe night making saucy stir fry from Chinese Cooking Demystified. one is fairly standard Cantonese seasoning and the other is a mala Sichuan base. I thickened the Sichuan version a bit over and the Cantonese a bit under but they were both very tasty and easy.

Sat down last night to build #gunpla again after a while and made solid progress. this PG build is lovely so far and most of the visible armor is undergated. this was actually my first time wiring LEDs into a kit but it was easy enough.

I recently acquired The Wok by J. Kenji Lopez-Alt and randomly selected a recipe to try first, which ended up being kung pao shrimp (gong bao ji ding). then I went looking for something to use the extra flank steak and peppers we had on hand, so pepper steak!

finally got to sit down to enjoy #virtualvacation2025! (what did the processing do to the color of the tv lol).

there are more undergated parts than I expected for #gunpla with screws from 2001 (the blue parts mostly), but I love how huge and part separated the accessories are so far. the shield is very cool with a spring controlled mechanism to fully retract the halves.

this is actually my first #gunpla build this year outside of build nights, so I'm excited. I'm finally diving back in with my big prize from the kit auction we held recently: the PG Mk2. it's also my very first PG after all these years and kits, somehow.

finally recreated the tteokbokki stew from 마복림할머니떡볶이 I visited in South Korea after seeing it on somebody feed phil. very easy to do at home if you have a hot pot set up.

oh yeah, I finished the build itself for this a bit ago. seriously one of the best HG kits I've built and it doesn't overlap with the lfrith much at all either. another top tier WFM HG #gunpla.

back to some building #gunpla again! I scratched my eye and wasn't able to focus on anything for a week or so, now it's the holidays.
anyway, I absolutely love how the HG Calibarn is coming along. why didn't they use more of this awesome pre-printed tech for other WFM kits?! it looks stunning!

anyway, I absolutely love how the HG Calibarn is coming along. why didn't they use more of this awesome pre-printed tech for other WFM kits?! it looks stunning!

the box pose was actually harder to get right than anything and maybe I'm just not very good lol.
anyway, this kit is incredible. way more layered build than expected in a few places. details all over look great and the articulation is stellar. comes with a stand too! HG Gundnode #gunpla
