So, how are "micro businesses" going to have huge valuations, if their "moat" is basically deploying widely available tech in their operations?

Wouldn't others easily copy their business model? Thus they'd have tiny margins AND tiny valuations? Makes no sense to me tbh.

It's as if everyone is holding their breaths, giving alternating looks at Amodei and labor market data, waiting for things to crash.

They'll be disappointed.

Can someone point me to Eric Schmidt saying this? Haven't found any source.

Very nice insight and perfectly correlates with "AI as normal technology" by @randomwalker.bsky.social!

No, but the narrative is pivoting away from it, since they're unable to achieve it.

There's around 30 definitions about it floating around, so the concept is pretty much meaningless at this point anyways.

Dead horse has been violently beaten.

It seems it's always some deep-seated trauma with these guys. It's so depressing.

It reminds me of Kurzweil, who essentially wants to use AI to talk to his dead father once more.

Is Geoff okay? Serious question.

He seems to be even deeper down the rabbit hole.

Exactly. Like, what would this even imply? Being "superhuman" is binary. You either are superhuman or not.

"Is it better than 100% of all humans?! No! It's better than 150%"

Do you know Yudkowski? If not, do some research, your mind will be absolutely blown.

He is a full-on Silicon valley AI Death Cult leader. And his response to human suffering does not surprise.

Luckily nobody noticed that I f'ed up and linked the wrong @emilymbender.bsky.social.

Maybe the other @emilybender.bsky.social will become an ally tho, so it's not all bad 🤔.

At a time when journalism is guilty of techwashing for industry, I expected a richer analysis from Atlantic. All the more so when reporting about a corporate partner!

I've enjoyed many of your Atlantic pieces, which is why this one surprised me.

Gotta keep 'em!
