yea i think first steps single biggest strength was its visuals (which, to be clear, are INCREDIBLE) but its really lacking in a lot of other ways, especially those interpersonal conflicts you mentioned. they dont fight or argue in first steps really at all

i think 2005 was retroactively tarnished in the eyes of the masses by rise of the silver surfer tho

my three biggest issues were doom, the treatment of sue as a sex object, and to a much lesser extent, turning johnny into a misogynistic fuckboy freak (deragatory). that last one is understandable tho cause johnny sorta represents this archetype of masculine youth and thats kinda what young men were
