The problem is you can make stats say almost whatever you want.

This graph - which uses the average of 12 leading pollsters - demonstrates Trump is doing better than either Bush Jr or Obama at this point in their second term. Of course, he was out for 4 years in between, so maybe not as comparable

They all start above 50%, and go down, but Trump' is the one that goes down least, and he has the highest of the three as of October 9th in their respective first years. Bush's was the lowest of the three by then, and Obama's was only slightly lower than Trump's current rating.

There have been confrontations between protesters and law enforcement every night since the start of the protests, with the Portland Police Bureau(PPB) and federal agents from the Department of Homeland Security(DHS) deploying tear gas, flash bangs, pepperballs, and rubber bullets on the crowd. Over the past few weeks, officers violently arrested over twenty people, with protesters reporting multiple concussions, six hospitalizations, and a broken arm that will require surgery. On the Ice Out of Portland instagram, many posts show photos of wounds protesters incurred from police munitions. "They haven't yet been doing mass arrests; it seems like the tactic they are using is making people afraid of bodily harm," comments K, one of the protesters.

Because of the aforementioned pattern of political violence designed to suppress lawful political activity and obstruct the rule of law, I hereby designate Antifa as a “domestic terrorist organization.” All relevant executive departments and agencies shall utilize all applicable authorities to investigate, disrupt, and dismantle any and all illegal operations — especially those involving terrorist actions — conducted by Antifa or any person claiming to act on behalf of Antifa, or for which Antifa or any person claiming to act on behalf of Antifa provided material support, including necessary investigatory and prosecutorial actions against those who fund such operations.

It was one of the things warned about in this 2022 report on preparing for full-scale fascism in USA.
But it warned, at the time, that the left - or progressives more broadly - weren't prepared or preparing much.

Militant, nationalistic, white supremacist violent extremism has increased in the United States. In fact, the number of far-right attacks continues to outpace all other types of terrorism and domestic violent extremism. Since 1990, far-right extremists have committed far more ideologically motivated homicides than far-left or radical Islamist extremists, including 227 events that took more than 520 lives.1 In this same period, far-left extremists committed 42 ideologically motivated attacks that took 78 lives.2 A recent threat assessment by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security concluded that domestic violent extremists are an acute threat and highlighted a probability that COVID-19 pandemic- related stressors, long-standing ideological grievances related to immigration, and narratives surrounding electoral fraud will continue to serve as a justification for violent actions.3
