those sprite rotations are done in a shader btw, i had to do a really weird work around to use shaders on a AnimatedSprite. It isn't even using the built in billboarding (custom one relative to cam/light pos)

@polygoncherub.bsky.social (sorry if this is bothersome...) Can you explain the techniques being applied here? Specifically, how those textures are automatically applied to the tops of these materials and fading out in a fancy way? it's really visible with the hanging moss.

I'm making a game with a visual style inspired by Slime Rancher (though more retro, pixel inspired, entirely different gameplay, and built in Godot 4), I've already noticed the use of world-space tri-planar mapping for the terrain itself.
