Books on the brain (along with graphic design, stationery, plus size fashion, flowers, music, and more) 📚🌱✏️
Because I work in marketing & graphic design, I often lack the energy to create/share content personally. So shout-out to @thestorygraph.com for this cute little February monthly #ReadingWrapUp ☺️📊 #BookSky

After borrowing a book from the library I realized it was a non-holdable copy and I had 14 days to read it. I didn’t get to finish it before but no biggie. I just returned it, found another copy, and check it out. I’ll take my time and read when I can 😌 #BookSky #PublicLibraries #LibraryCard

Starting to track my #TBR in my library account in an attempt to borrow the book first instead of buy it. #BookSky

Bursting my comfy cozy Bluesky bubble real quick: Check your your #Instagram account following ASAP. Meta is making accounts follow new social profiles for Trump and JD Vance WITHOUT the user’s consent. I will be deleting my #Meta accounts expeditiously (I know I should’ve done it sooner).

Major shoutout to my library bc they ordered hundreds of additional #onyxstorm audiobook copies so my hold came in tonight (instead of potentially waiting weeks)!! Back to Basgiath I go 🖤🌩️🐉 #booksky

Nearly 4 years ago, I watched someone on #booktok share everything that can be borrowed from the library (including power tools!). Watching that video and others like it led to me getting my dream job in marketing & communications for #publiclibraries! What a wild ride it’s been 🥹🦋 #booksky

Reading Parable of the Talents now by Octavia E Butler. Found this passage relevant to our times. Actually this entire book is relevant to our dystopian reality. #booksky #booktok

One thing before tomorrow:

Use your local libraries.

Get your card.

Borrow books, manga, films, audios, ebooks.

Recommend titles for purchase (usually online).

Attend promoted activities.

Fill out those "How are we doing?" questionnaires.

Tell your kids that libraries are good.

They are.

Hey #booksky what’s everyone reading today? I’m about 70% through a cozy fantasy novel called The Crescent Moon Tearoom and my husband just finished Spy x Family, Vol. 6.

64% of the books I read in 2024 were borrowed from my local public library system. Hoping to increase that stat in 2025 🎉📖 #booksky

Found out I should not be driving while listening to Cynthia Erivo’s rendition of Defying Gravity. I could barely see the road through all the tears I was shedding.

Public Libraries can be wonderful places where children and adults can find books that they can see themselves reflected in, no matter who they are, and books that can introduce them to entire other lived experiences. Both are so valuable!
