Medical professional and educator living in a blue bubble in a very, very red state.
I made it as far as Nuzzi claiming to be worried about "how many trees would be killed" in the publishing of her book - which was about 6 minutes in...Needless to say, I think the world's forests will survive.

Isn't this, in some ways, better? I mean - I prefer the masks come off. Let's see and hear what they really think and feel - finally once and for all.

This is how little he thinks of his constituents - that they neither want, nor deserve, the truth. It's like reading a Jonathan Turley article, honestly.

Does the include the war on Christmas?

Those letters can be peeled off just as easily as a ballroom can be demoed. Any Dem running for President worth their salt should promise to do both on Day 1.

If it means (in his own mind at least) he's not been forgotten, I suppose so.

My Grandfather would have said, "Looks like you found a leeverite, ma'am."

"What's that?" the woman would have answered.

"Leave 'er right there." he would say.

I could literally go to my mother's retirement home and find five or six 80+ year old men who sit around all day main-lining Fox news that sound just like this.

Hence the exaggerated response to repeatedly confess something. So desperate is the need....

This is the rule of the aging male psyche - a desperation to remain relevant.

Have you listened to her interview on the @thebulwark.com? She cloyingly describes her feelings of guilt and concern when asking her publisher how many trees the printing of her book would likely kill. I don't think she has much to worry about.

When it's all said and done, the biggest villain in this decade's long embarrassment of US history is Fox News and it's not even close.

I think about IT all the time. As much as I pray IT will be an event of spectacular proportions…in the midst of him belittling a female reporter, he has a massive cardiac event, say, & shits his pants on live TV as he shuffles off this mortal coil, but I have a feeling he will deny us of even this…

Absolutely - those are also very plausible reasons. Agree.

1) More types of learning disabilities are now identified.
2) We do a better job in identifying learning disabilities.
3) Incidence of disabilities is increasing over time.
3) There is a creep toward kids and parents inflating the need for accommodations thinking it will help their performance. 2/2

I ensure every student that is vetted by the office of student affairs as qualified to receive accommodations gets them, absolutely. I simply state an observation - the # requesting them has increased X4 or more over 25 years. There are multiple possible explanations for this...(1/2)

Thanks.

I myself have a disability, so am particularly sensitive to the kids that need accommodations always having access to them. And when resources like quiet rooms, or spaces, get requested by kids who potentially don't need them, then the kids who rely on them get the short end of the stick.

I never said it did. Not once. I myself have a disability so am particularly sensitive to this topic - which is why I also do have concerns the system may be abused.
December 2, 2025 at 10:46 PM
I never assume anyone is lying to me. They get permission for accommodations through the office of student affairs. Once vetted, I follow their recommendations to the letter. I only note that my observations mirror those in the article. The # of accommodations has increased fourfold over 25 years.
December 2, 2025 at 10:44 PM
I don't disagree. I didn't write the article. I just read it and much of it resonated with my real life experience. That's all. To be clear, I offer and allow any/all accommodation I've ever been asked to give. But it is getting more challenging to meet all the requests as they increase.
December 2, 2025 at 7:02 PM
I can't comment on whether socioeconomic status plays a role in how or what a student requests. What I can comment on is how what is requested of me as an educator w/r to how information is delivered and what teaching and exam accommodations are being requested has changed over 25+ years.
