I'm a fan of remix culture, I learned during the rise of culture jamming, so I'm not averse to remixulation of content, we should just prioritize humane process over "efficient" programmable ones. I don't know about you, but efficiency is not something I look for in art.

AI can only give you what has been fed into it, remixed. Not all texts have been digitized. Using physical books and the world around you in a process allows for more diverse input than relying on a singular methodology that I perceive AI uses.

If you want answers, you can FIND an answer and if all you're looking for is AN answer, there's going to be someone better than you doing it cheaper. I teach dadaist, surrealist, situationist process art instead of algorithmic corporate slop.

I don't assign papers in my discipline, but AI can generate iterations and variations for designs. I espouse framing the questions as: Describe this tree in terms of a fish, e.g. how is a raven like a writing desk? It's more about deepening the mystery than finding a solution.
