I did write all the cavers and say I would donate the maximum contribution to any primary opponents, which I intend to do!

That's why I have spent 15 years in physician advocacy... On the boards of 6 non profits. On the front line advilocating. And you're fighting with me. Maybe you should reconsider who you should be arguing with.

Yeah, implement it then! Good luck!
November 10, 2025 at 2:25 AM
Tell me seriously how you can get that through blue dog democrats in Congress. Again, reality exists.

I encourage you to volunteer for all the campaigns doing that. I've been advocating for that for a long time. Geez, I've been fighting for Medicaid expansion in my state for a decade. Doesn't happen overnight, and good luck for the fight. Still celebrating incremental wins.

Share your plan for getting in done now! I'm ready to listen!

What political strategy would you have implemented in 2011 to get single payer? Man, if you had the answer, really selfish of you not to share with the rest of us! Reality exists...

It's actually the kaiser family foundation, but thanks for playing!

Sorry, we didn't have a magic wand in 2011 to fix all the problems. But that doesn't mean I won't celebrate the gains and continue to advocate for more. Or you can go back to 1960d health care.

Also "marignally reduced"?

Before the Affordable Care Act (ACA), the U.S. uninsured rate was around 14-16%, with over 44 million people uninsured by 2013. After the ACA's major provisions took effect in 2014, the uninsured rate fell significantly, reaching a record low of about 7.7% by 2023.

Incremental improvement is improvement. And you aren't aware of the 80/20 rule the ACA implemented? Yes, we have things to improve but arguing "now is the worst time in history" is a terribly dumb stance.
November 10, 2025 at 2:01 AM
As a physician who has seen the huge improvements in access for my patients from ACA, from pre existing conditions, free preventative care, and Medicaid expansion in many states, I think you need to get some actual knowledge.

Was it better in the past?
November 10, 2025 at 1:25 AM
You keep making the argument that the quality of the product has no impact, only the price that is paid, which frankly is a ridiculous argument. I would not want 1960s health care, and i'm glad we have the lowest number of uninsured people in US history currently.

But frontal lobotomy was available!
November 10, 2025 at 1:03 AM
I mean, I could have given you a prescription for Thorazine in 1960, but no other currently available psychiatric medications. So basically the same.

Also, never affording a house and not being able to live exactly where you want to are two different things.

Makes me think of how average body temperature is dropping. It's lower than 98.6 because we aren't chronically sick and have lower inflammation overall.

That was painful!

My dad used to take me to his work on weekends, and the only candy in the vending machine was Bit O'Honey. So it has a special nostalgic spot in my brain. But no, I will not eat now!
