To be clear I own a single Bambu P1S and do not print commercially. PCTG is not cost effective - it's like a really spectacular block of wood a furniture maker would use to carve an engagement ring box for their partner.

Is that actually bearings just scaled up to fit a spool? I don't work on big machines and mostly interact with 608s (inside big rings) so I'd never considered the idea. Is there an advantage to going with big and printed compared to a greased metal 608 in a wheel?

I know what he's talking about - it's not melting so much as becoming rigid and swelling slightly. I've noticed my own P1S's internal ptfe tubes slowly swell and harden when printing a lot of enclosed materials like ASA and PC. Also check printable filament welding jigs' design notes and comments.

That first sentence should include "it would still be wise to take this precaution even if I was planning something less potentially disastrous" somewhere. I was distracted by trying to find the dog with the best ratio of BOAS to funny name.
All of this happens about as often as you'd guess!

It's the Biqu x E3D Revo and even if it weren't madness to run a 1.4mm nozzle on a BBL P1S that already suffers from more flow problems than a pug with hay fever. Pro tip: if you're making spare printer parts with uncooperative materials go ahead and make a few at a time – but first make some boxes!

My window fans keep falling out in a way that has me thinking way too much about how to fix it without a band saw or router table.

Anyone know if there are contour gauges with a digital output? Sure you can use a regular one, scan it on a regular printer/scanner, convert the images to vector files and finally combine them in Fusion or Blender but there must be a better way. Seems like Hall effect sensors might work. No clue.

I really did think it would be a way to not end up as a middle aged man who hides in the garage and gets good at woodworking. Now I'm a middle aged man who spends too much time in the workshop fixing 3D printers and learning 3D modeling.
I became inspired. Always dangerous.

People have been calling it my hobby. I have protested because I had the impression hobbies are enjoyable. But a king is a king 24/7 asleep or awake, and a hobby doesn't have to be fun if you're not getting paid and nobody asked you to do it.
Obsession? That's just unhealthy time management.

This is because putting a big plastic grid at the bottom of your junk drawers and overflowing tool chests is actually making the problem worse. Make the boxes and organizers first-then when you make the grid it's easy to navigate the drawer. As with most of my wisdom I did not do this. Heed my words
