New drive perhaps? The Windows license is tied to the hardware. If you swap drives and you are unsuccessful, you can always swap the original drive back into place.

That top title bar would be less intrusive if you changed the mode to dark mode? If it was ALL dark, you might not notice it as much. Full screen mode vs split screen trade off?

I use Wacom tablets. The one I currently have on my Linux set up is the small bamboo and it’s serviceable. Works just fine for under $100 CAD

Create a live USB of Pop!_OS and try it out, see how you like it. While you are investigating, go get a removable drive and copy all your documents, emails, passwords, mp3s etc first your eventual move to Linux. My suggestion is to install Linux on a separate drive from Windows. Don’t partition!

My daughter’s 2015 MacBook Pro died: the drive died. I spent $75 at the PC recycle store and they installed a new drive and reinstalled macOS. You don’t need a new MacBook. I hope you gave kept a Time Machine backup?

Okay, do you have a pal with another computer? Download etcher.io so you can create a live ISO of www.linuxmint.com once you boot into mint on your unhappy MacBook Pro, it will allow you access your laptop drive so you can copy it to an external drive.
