Ponchos are usually just sheets of plastic without breathability. Permeable stuff that can pass air but not water uses DWR (durable water proofing) but needs to be restored every couple years by cleaning it and running in a dryer to re-melt it into fibres. Can also apply a new coat of spray on DWR.

Hmm yeah might need to ask a specific electrician near you, if you do it wrong it's extra unplanned work for them, if you do it right it's less of a payday, so they might be hesitant.

Yeah you would need a service entrance head to hang the cable over head, as it needs a steel cable ran between them for support www.eaton.com/ca/en-gb/cat...

Estimate could be under 3000 but you might need plans too, not sure. I'd contact local electricians to get a quote or you can look for an unlicensed handyman to do unpermitted work, but not sure your ownership.

You have a home you rent or own and you intend to find an electrician? What voltage do you need and power, is it outdoors or indoors? Unfortunately if you need to pull a permit for a service to a separate building like a garage and it doesn't have any, the price will probably go above that.

I know the electrical code if that's what you're looking for, but I don't design residential.

Not putting all of those in the same bucket of course, but I feel a connection to the real through photography more than a pretty assortment of pixels, I think.

Nuanced take and interesting. I've never liked video game photography or photography sims, but people can do whatever they want of course. I think it's just too unreal, and fake for me to find meaning in it. But, so is heavily edited photos, photobashing, 3D modelling, and AI art.
