Ownership deserves every bit of how ugly this year is going to be. We should be rebuilding in a youth movement right now. I guess their record will be about the same as if we were. Still stinks to be incompetent.

The only thing I would say is that it would be really disappointing to not fix the issues with Keegan’s offensive role from last year. IMO that means they should find the best offer for DeMar and take it.

I think that whether he is or isn’t, it just doesn’t matter much. This FO should be rebuilding so it’s not big deal to not have the next franchise PG on the roster now. Ideally he’s on a deal that could bring back a small asset one day, but either way it will be short term money.

Don’t disagree with most of that. He might just be a good bench player. Just comes down to asset management for me. If, when the road comes to an end, you lose him for nothing- that’s bad asset management. If they are asking for so much that he would have no longer be a positive asset, then fine.

I appreciate you using these stats, but they do depend on team context. The Kings as constructed, and even without considering cost, need a player like Ellis more than they need a player like Jerome imo. I also believe Keon has a more realistic chance to be good in a starting role compared to Ty.

Oof, I definitely disagree on 80% of Keon’s defense. And Ty in the playoffs is another conversation.

I would also argue that they are not similar players and Jerome, while a very good player, would not be a good choice to replace what Keon does. If Keon wants to be here long term (maybe that’s the issue?) his number should have been pretty manageable.
