Occultation of Mars by the Moon 1/13/2025 9:26pm EST!
Mars is the little reddish dot at about the 7'oclock position below the moon's disk.
Using Canon 77D with Tamron 18-400 lens, all the way out at 400m.
Exposure ISO 100 f/6.3, 1/200sec (BRIGHT!!!)

This time, it’s Comet Leonard! 💫
Caught this in the mountains with the Scooby Gang. Stuck my DSLR camera onto my telescope and took a few snaps.
That green glow is due to sunlight destroying diatomic carbon.

Finally! Aurora last night in SE Pennsylvania (while watching for the Perseids). Barely visible to the eye, but obvious to the camera. 😍 Also saw a few meteors…💫
