Workforce development (WFD) is just one of many invisible ways that NIH + other funding agencies ensure there will be sufficiently trained professionals to meet society’s needs. When NIH is cut, these WFD activities stop happening, + we won’t see that impact for a decade or longer

Scientists, engineers, nurses, clinical research professionals + others don’t just appear magically appear on demand. It takes 10-20 yrs to train the medical/STEM workforce. So ppl (me, others, NIH) do this. It takes specific effort to make sure we have enough ppl to care for society’s needs
