As a lifelong supporter of Scottish independence, I detest the BBC’s naked editorial bias on this subject (which they don’t even try to hide) and think it should be held accountable. But not because they did something the orange windbag didn’t like.

So very, deeply tired of people trying to establish a false narrative that the SNP have a ‘record of failure’. The bottom line is that the voters disagree.

They are all peeing themselves about Farage and frantically trying to be seen to be tough on immigration. We’re better than this.

Jesus surfboarding Christ. Does he actually not comprehend what an ‘insurance based system’ means?
The crashing irony is that he is actually describing a socialised healthcare system, and he’s too pig-ignorant to realise it.

Well that’s great and all, but she saw everything he said and did in his first term, and then went out and voted for him twice more. So she can’t really claim this all came as a surprise.

It’s far from the only time the Scottish Government has implemented a popular and progressive policy (and, in this case, inexpensive) and has been ridiculed for it.

The baby boxes - though very popular wherever they have been commissioned - were slated in Scotland by every other party and in the media, and made out to be a publicity stunt. This is what passes for normal in Scottish politics, where the rule is SNPbad.

Well, the answer that leaps to mind is that it’s an SNP initiative, and Labour famously (and childishly) refuse to support anything the SNP do, even if it was their idea in the first place.
November 7, 2025 at 10:28 AM
It’s pathetic. The SNP should 100% be on the warpath here, saying that the presence of the UK’s nuclear weapons on Scottish soil is a clear and present threat to Scotland’s national security.
November 6, 2025 at 3:52 PM
It was exactly the same about Scotland in 2014. Loads of people and companies claiming they would leave after a Yes vote. To which the only answer is ‘so what?’ If you only wanted to be there if you could have everything your way, Scotland’s better off without you.

He’ll still be living a life of luxury and privilege. So not really, no.

Was discussing with the wife today. 500 years ago he’d have been executed, exiled, or married off to someone in the arse end of Europe to get rid of him. They’re going for a modern version of exile, but it’s not enough.

I don’t think it’s you

Not these days, but in my teens and twenties, very much yes. Still have a lot of them.

You have to be Labour, and have signed up to the idea that all SNP policies are bad, just because they came from the SNP. It is all about jealousy and hate.
October 25, 2025 at 11:32 PM
This is the equivalent of me saying what I’d do on day one if I won the lottery (which I don’t even play). Sarwar is not going to win the election. He isn’t going to get anywhere near it.

Oh, be serious, FGS. You can go and work in any country in the world ‘if you get the right paperwork’. This is hardly the same thing as having the right to live and work in every EU country. Brexit is the most idiotic idea ever pursued by a UK government, and it’s not even close.
October 23, 2025 at 11:29 PM
That is the question.
October 23, 2025 at 11:23 PM
It’s definitely a start that they are acknowledging Brexit has unequivocally been a bad thing. Previously it was all ‘we must make Brexit work’. But yes, a long way to go.
