Show us you have no $&@#% clue how research institutions work—the minimum &#$@*% requirements for operationalizing programs and studies of this magnitude... nor of the tangible and intangible benefits that federal, state, and local governments, industry partners and community organizations, and-yeah-regular individuals receive in return. &@#$%* destructive imbeciles. By the way-research grants are not gifts. They are not handouts. They are not free money. They are transactional agreements: the sponsor funds the research and receives (demands, rightfully) deliverables in the form of scientific products. Funding research is an investment. And indirects? That's what keeps participants safe (IRB). That's what funds infrastructure. That's what ensures data safety, privacy, and cybersecurity. That's what ensures public access compliance. That's what supports facilities (physical space and public safety). That's what provides systems for accountability, for checks and balances. Of course, this lot has shown they don't give a good goddamn about safety, security, compliance, and accountability, so this remarkable display of malevolence and malfeasance is perfectly on brand.|
