He was incredibly accomplished. But like many physicians he was incapable of realizing when his skills had waned. The final years of his career were spent making terrible decisions in surgical cases and causing irreparable harm to patients. He was losing it in 2003 when he spoke at my graduation.

Well thanks. I haven’t thought about that movie in decades and now I am watching it and remembering why I haven’t thought about it in years.
