I’m so glad to see that we are having these conversations. If I heard, “Grow a thick skin once,” heard it a million times. I never told another faculty or staff member that. We need to get way beyond that.

I am frightened as well. I am the scientist in my family but, beyond that, my familial gene pool has its fair share of autoimmune diseases. I have psoriatic arthritis and psoriasis. I also have runs of migraines, though they are not as common as they used to be in me.
