It wasn’t perfect, but 2 years later, I played in the university opera orch. for a production and listened to it day & night. I still listen to it & still get chills down my spine and tears down my cheeks when I hear Jessie Norman’s “Dove Sono.”

That reminded me that a kid I knew got a used “Playboy Pink” Mustang when we were in high school in the 70s. I think he thought he was going to be cool, but he mostly got teased with pimp and gay jokes.

Today I completed radiation treatments for prostate cancer. I always asked for classical music during treatments. Today, Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries was playing & I emerged from the machine at the triumphant end of the music. Today, Brunhilde & her Valkyries were firing arrows at my tumor cells!

The French Horn player didn’t realize that the “hammer blow of fate” in Mahler’s Sixth Symphony referred to him until the percussionist with the long arms missed the box.
