Best Little Free Library ever, seen on my walk yesterday.
A free library in the shape of an Imperial Walker. The back leg is slightly bent like he's actually in motion, and his head dips into the bushes like he's looking around. Made of metal. Seen on a quiet, upscale street of McMansions in Carlsbad, California.

Finally, a finished quilt in 2025! A king-sized stashbuster. #quiltsky
A king-sized quilt made from 15" squares of cotton from my stash. Most of the prints feature fish, flowers, or water. Sewn and quilted by me, on a Bernina 770 QE and a Bernina Q16. One square with a print that is aqua in the background, with many orange-and-white koi, a water lily pad and part of a lily flower. I quilted the prints design, connecting the parts with watery squiggles.

Current quilt in progress. When I need to *really* learn how to use a new machine, there's nothing like quilting the prints on big squares.
A quilt being stitched, held down by a heavy red hoop. The upper square is a blue-and-white Hawaiian hibiscus print. The bottom print is of ripples in water in a more pattern. You can see that I've quilted it in circles spreading out from individual droplets.

Our local Rite-Aid today. Can't imagine why they're going belly up.
Nothing but empty shelves at the local Rite-Aid in Mammoth Lakes. The next nearest drugstore is almost an hour drive away, and it's not in great shape either. You can get prescriptions filled at Vons, at least.

Very interested to hear about this bill. Our condo association in Mammoth Lakes would love to make improvements. Will the proposed bill help us? We are homeowners too, and we can't even get wildfire insurance as of this year.

Beautiful! I enjoy using it as a way to give some energy and motion to a wash of color. This quilt was made during the worst times of covid... but I still like it!

#Trumptariffs hitting the #quilting community. Got this email today from Accuquilt, a company that makes fabric die cutters. I guess if I want one (I've been dithering), I'd better get it today. So, yeah, fuck trump and all who sail on him.
