Gonna start playing #Dispatch tonight and recording my first experiences with it for Youtube. I've seen like, half of the first epsidoe, but that was enough to sell me and I haven't looked past that.

Realization: I had been using Japanese TCG ratios instead of MtG/Standard like I thought. Which means I need to redo most of the cards. At least I realized before I got too much farther in. Reworking the rations also means another pass at card design. Left is old, right is new. Any thoughts? #MIDAS

Doing new tweaks to the Vtuber model, saw Vroid added tails and decided screw it, we're keeping the ears now.

Still gotta design some new t-shirts, but we'll keep the S4G one saved for next year's

Naturally had to make a lot of placeholder assets for MIDAS playtests until a later art stage. I couldn't resist sneaking in some of cool weapons from fandom...

Here's a bunch of character cards under the new format. These have also had their Passives altered following rule changes and game balance adjustments. I want every character usable in both PvE and PVP, and some of their abilities just didn't work in one or the other.

Old layout/new layout comparison. Cards are the same size as before. I like being able to show more art, and since the players use tokens on the map now instead of the cards themselves, they didn't need to have a clearly defined before color to differentiate them from creatures.

Practical Cairo: Did you overhaul the card layouts AGAIN?
Creative Cairo: No no, trust me! I think this was a really good idea!

Player/equipment cards with a horizontal orientation, allowing them to be stacked, making the math involved in stats calculation super easy. Also show more art. Thoughts?

No more teaming up against a boss. Last one standing wins. Meet me in the square.

Arena mode is coming along nicely. Items spawn in the blue zones around the edges while mobs spawn in the corners. New leveling and skill cooldown mechanics for fast games.

Due to a bit of burnout while working on monster designs, I'm working on the arena mode for a bit.

Instead of the having facedown cards and ownable tiles, the Arena board is a 10x10 grid which has purchasable 'tile' cards that can be placed on the board to apply modifiers.

The Roster is done. The manual is coming together. Playtesting continues.

The next project will be designing gameboards to represent the individual universes the characters hail from, as well as creating new art for creature, item and quest cards.

Alice is technically a magic user, but with a very modern understanding of magic, treating reality like code to be altered. Her abilities are centered around defense and tilting luck to your advantage, making enemy's regret targeting you.

They say it takes a village to raise a child, but what does a cult raise? Lulu wields dark magic and an evil spirit bonded to her body to damage enemies and even bypass their defenses, while draining her own lifeforce and little in the way of defense.

Three more character reveals, both of which complete the character roster for [Shaded London] and [HeavenxHell]. 4 characters remain to complete the starting roster of 20. Keep in mind, everything is subject to change pending playtesting.

Another productive evening! New version of the board to improve clarity after previous playtests, and character cards now sit at the player's hand with a tracker for stat modifiers, keeping all effects in one place. Tokens for characters moving around the board are done too!
