Art lover, Mom, Gamer, and a bit crazy
Can't say I relate on the same level, but I've had toxic people try and bring me down right before important things... it's never fun. Best thing I've learned is to cut those people out and live my life as the best version of me I can be. Haters gonna hate, so feck em.

Totally relate to Eve... other than the height. Forever cursed to be short 😂

I mean, the genie out of the bottle comment isn't wrong because it honestly is.

That being said, it doesn't mean it should be normalized.

What happens when AI replaces all creative and low level jobs? Who will buy Coca Cola?

Nothing wrong with being able to defend yourself. A weapon is only as violent as the owner.

Admittedly I have been forced to use mine, and while I wish I could say otherwise I would do it again every time to ensure myself and my kids are safe.

Just you know... follow the law 😂

I'm not really sure but it can fire a 5.5 inch ball, so probably a decent sized boat. I haven't really tried it on metal, but I'd imagine if it's able to puncture the hull it'll sink anything with enough hits below the water line.

That being said it lives facing my front door.

NGL, if you don't already want guns I can see how it wouldn't affect you. That being said, I miss being able to buy all my lovely shooty things after moving here to Ireland.

At least I have my cannon and crossbow though.

from different angles. Those angles were not pretty. I have since backed away from the series for other reasons (namely I got bored with it), but I refuse to return to it due to the actions of JKR and the content of the series itself.

Plus how can I support someone who hates one of my kids? (2/2)

Well put.

I grew up with Harry Potter before she went all crazy. So it does have a special place in my heart.

That being said, as I've gotten older I recognized problematic issues with the series, and even have had my interpretation of things challenged in ways that caused me to see things (1/?)

I went to a cracker barrel once as a kid.

It was okay.

Scratch that apparently he did it intentionally and twice.

I'm sorry America... sorry that you have an idiot in office and whatever Elon is.

Ehhhhh. I'd need to know context about what he's saying when he does it. Like Nazis are def bad but if he's just swinging an arm out like an idiot...

BTW he's a crap person either way.

Unless it's integral to a main character's arc in the film (and I'm including the pro/antag's crew), and can be told in a way that is the same whether or was a hetero/LGBT relationship it doesn't need to be there.

Just comes off as fake and studio trying for brownie points imo.
December 17, 2024 at 9:29 PM
I'll go on to mention, I think it was Nimona, did a solid job of representing an LGBT relationship. It wasn't just like "here's a gay character", the character and their relationship was actually pretty central to the plot. Could it have done without it? Yeah, but it wouldn't have hit the same.
December 17, 2024 at 9:26 PM
If the main plot isn't different with or without it, then it isn't necessary and quite frankly shouldn't be in it to begin with. One of my greatest peeves is when films put in LGBT stuff that has no reason to be there other than "hey look, inclusion!".

We do need representation, but in smart ways.
December 17, 2024 at 9:24 PM
NGL, I get the frustration from the rest of the LGBT community HOWEVER, I actually think this may be a good idea considering the target demographic of the film and the current political climate in the US. (1/2)

I don't feel sorry for the family or kids.

Thompson was evil. I feel his death was justified. I feel more deaths should follow, more healthcare people, more healthcare lobbyists, more politicians. Them and their families.

It's cruel, but it's the only way to make change happen there.

I will die on the hill that Luigi Mangione should be given a medal and a parade.

And that NYPD should put the same effort into finding all murderers, not just those that kill rich CEOs.

Here's hoping more CEOs meet Brian's fate and corporate America realizes the people are tired of their greed.

So if people want to discuss the adversity trans people face, then do so- on a post about trans issues, not a post about maternal mortality rates.

It comes across as someone who is trying to one up another person by saying their issues are worse when people insert trans talk unnecessarily.
December 3, 2024 at 1:20 PM
And finally, everything doesn't need to be about trans people and trans rights. People inserting trans rights and wokeness into everything is part of why the US is in such a state- they pushed more moderate left leaning people away trying to make everything about trans issues when they're not.
December 3, 2024 at 1:17 PM
Furthermore, while I agree that trans individuals are adversely impacted by the laws, most of them are not bleeding out or dying of sepsis due to doctors being afraid to operate or trying inducement. They might be facing other issues, but trans issues are not the focal point of the post.
