I've been going for the Unpurified Blade ending with some recovery omamori and the one that gives you infinite durability while focused + more attack at high durability so I can have automatic parries and fast attacks, plus shichibi was the easiest final boss for me

Same... that last one is so tantalizing but I'm dreading the pregnancy demons and gank squads

The enemies there are still pretty suddenly powerful, but your trip to the region comes right after a handful of new dungeons that give you tons of EXP so that you're not stuck grinding in the room next to the recovery tile for hours

Not quite that far yet but at least the final grinding wall in Rhone/Rendarak has become a generous curve. Given all the new tools at the party's disposal, I don't think Malroth will be nearly as bad.

One of the boss fights in DQ1 got to the point where I was just praying that Fuddle would work every few turns because there were two hard hitting enemies that healed every turn and I had no clean way to win

If I have a major complaint of this collection over DQ3HD2D, it's that the difficulty on Draconian Quest is kind of insane to the point I had to lower it to normal eventually (DQ3HD on the other hand I was able to 100% on Draconian)

No more aimless wandering aside from treasure hunting, the party members all get so much good attention and writing, Prince of Cannock is useful in battle (???!!!???), the new events slot in naturally and fill a lot of what was originally mindless "go here do this" questing

DQ1HD felt a little bloated, but maybe I'm just of the camp that likes how lean and simple the original one was, but DQ2HD has only benefitted from the additions
