Thank you for such a clear breakdown! As an indie designer, I often get inspiration from music, especially from how each instrument/style can change the narrative feel, so it was surprising to hear indies think about it so late. Music and visual art influencing each other is such a win indeed!

I know next to nothing about game music. What's your creative/inspiration process before sitting down to make the actual music? Do you get a vibe for the end result and explore that in a specific way?

This was very entertaining to watch and it made me realize I actually understand more than I thought (though I wouldn't have been able to contribute much).
Also, hearing "20% of building a game is putting the content in, 80% is the reiteration" was so freeing, it single-handedly unstuck me.

The rabbits point is very relatable too. I started adjusting the settings after hearing how wolves sounded like puppies and I really did not like that.

Later on you can recruit and assign NPCs as hunters, then the resources gathered simply show up in storage. I do like that it's adjustable and allows for different aiming skill (or anxiety) levels. Downside: I often misclick and mortally slap my own mount or farm animals.

I'm able to play one of my favourite games because it lets me lower the animals' HP to just 10% (one hit) + increase the xp multiplier I get from hunting. The hunting skill is important for progression early on, but I'm not forced to see/hear it happen for long. Option to skip would be nice.
