I think a lot of parents underestimated the power of social media algorithms. My son is 20 and he watched friends go down some pretty dark holes during the pandemic. It has only gotten worse in 5 years. It isn't the only thing causing Gen Z men to lose their minds, but it isn't helping.

/3 He’s never loved, he’s never been loved, and he’s never been happy, he never will be. He’ll die unhappy.

But not as unhappy as he deserves.

/2 Has Trump ever felt joy? Has he ever had a truly happy day? Does he have any fond memories at all? Has he ever experienced anything closer to contentment than gloating, or smugness, or fleeting satisfaction in demeaning others?

Good thing no holidays coming up where children are all together in one place.

My neighborhood is filled with badass birds who eat as slowly as they can, making direct eye contact with my cat while they do it. There's also a ballsy squirrel who plants his ass on a branch right by cat's favorite window seat.

Anyone who has gone done the dementia road recognizes the symptoms and signs of treatment. You are 100% right. Unfortunately for Trump and all our dementia loved ones, none of these drugs will prevent his ultimate decline - just mask or delay symptoms for a short period.

The arguments they used to get him to take it are in the post too -- No other president would agree! Most people fail! Sir, only you are smart enough to ace this test!

The "long and boring" cognitive test is probably the 4+ hour test performed by a psychiatrist that is used to determine which dementia is at work. The fact that he did this in front of "many" he did not know is more dementia confession b/c they may be bringing in outside experts or he forgot his doc

The "long and very boring" means he'd graduated from the mini cog test (the one with the animal recognition) to the 4+ hour exam performed by psychiatrists to determine which dementia is at work. The fact that he agreed to the test is a sign that he likely in mid-stage or later.

The fact that they went from boomer to millennial, skipping X (my gen) is so classic. Once again, ignored. And we like it that way.

Sometimes MRI/PET are combined, and I wouldn't expect Trump to know whether he'd had both or not. It wouldn't be surprising if Walter Reed had a MRI/PET machine.

THIS is the best expression of dementia that I've seen so far. A cognitively healthy person would know WHY they were being tested. People with dementia are often confused about why they are being examined, and can usually only remember the highlights (I had a MRI).

I've had 4 family members with dementia. This makes the most sense to me. They had trouble finding rooms in their own home but most people wouldn't have guessed they had dementia during short interactions.

We're in Idaho. Bronze plan went from $400/month to $1000/month for my husband and son.

My No Kings protest was in a small city in northern Idaho. Not a huge group, but it felt SO GOOD to be in Trump country and hear those supportive honks. Last No Kings we had armed counter-protesters across the street. Today-no one! Only the regular Trump parade of cars that was smaller than usual.

I love the First Law series. You've inspired me to give the audiobooks a try. I'm re-reading old favorites to self soothe during these troubling times.
