With that, I want you to enjoy this peace you've created this Thanksgiving, everyone. I really do hope your holiday as amazing as you are.

Thank you.

And a huge "Thank you" to Becca at "Spirit of Ukraine" for doing the impossible. When the donations fell short, she got what this little girl needed. She never took "no" for an answer. She's a registered non-profit, and a worthy endeavor. The proof is right here.

Because of you, a little girl who has lived through an invasion (google "The Battle of Konotop, when you get an chance) and who will live through her diagnosis, will have a chance at a "normal "childhood.

It's Thanksgiving in the US right now, and families are getting together at a very important time of year to reflect on what they're thankful for. This year, I wanted to make sure that I told you all how thankful I am that you're out there.

Well... Everyone? I'm happy to report that as of today, in Andriya's cousin's hands is everything Andriya needed when we started our fundraisers.

This didn't stop Becca. She reached across the globe. A glucose monitoring system was found in the bottom of a box in the UK just before it was loaded into a van. In Australia, an insulin pump was found on specialist website for $100. In the end, both were posted to Andriya's cousin in Poland.

Not knowing what else to do, we reached out to "Becca" at Spirit of Ukraine and we put our heads together. Becca took the effort and RAN with it. Both of us would end up fundraising to raise the $1700 needed for the insulin pump, but in total only $236 would be donated to our combined efforts.

Initially deeming this effort "too much" for us to handle on our own, we reached out the multiple organizations that specialize in diabetes, children, or both. None of the organizations ever wrote back.

We were made aware of this situation by her cousin, a woman we met in Poland, who helped us deliver an ambulance to Ukraine in August of this year. Naturally, we attempted to help.

Thank you all for continuing to make little miracles like this possible.

I wasn't expecting to see what I saw in her photos when they were sent back, but I could not possibly sum up all of the good you're doing any better than Nika's smile already has. I thought you should know the history behind that smile so you can see the good you're bringing.

In our Christmas run that year (December 2024) she asked for a "Stuffed kitten plush toy" and knowing that the memory of the loss of her father would still be fresh, I set out to purchase the biggest one I could find (And then I purchased another).

In that photo is "Nika". She's six years old and she lost her father to the fighting in the summer of 2024. As a father of two myself, I can't imagine the trauma that would have put her through.

I remember writing my friend "Vika" in Dnipro that day. My message read "I'm so sorry. I have no hope for what the future holds now" 😢

We've never stopped though. If anything we've tripled our efforts.
