What I've done is just take the handful of things I like from it, and stick with 5e. (IE: Updated Witch Bolt, Cure Wounds, subclasses)

Honestly I mostly do homebrew, but if I were to ever want to use one of these it would be 3-4 sessions. I wouldn't want to invest the time necessary for a 3-4 session event to homebrew.
