Libraries, parks, walking group, frisbee games, community centers, writing groups, volunteer cleanups, Reddit (r/MakeNewFriends, r/Meetup, r/CasualConversation), Facebook groups for your area, etc.

Go a bar, bowling alley, pool hall, else game store, etc. make friends - people move on, life happens. If you're into sports, any bar, you'll make "friends" quick. Else join a pool league, volunteer (lots to choose from), etc. options are unlimited if you're willing to get out.
