Then I remembered some words of Wisdom from Ted Lasso. So I sent them to my team.

I have been a Trek fan since I was a kid, but had a resurgence during the pandemic.
Here is a gift that @senda.bsky.social got me for my house.

I don’t know if I have a favorite of all time. I think an “all time” would have to be something that I have and would keep playing.
The closest I think I can get is Swords Without Masters. It is a game I can come back to and have a good time.

The Whispering Vault
I could have gone with any number of itch.io games, but I picked a game that few people recognize when I mention it.
Created in the early 90s this Horror/Supers game is one that I have always enjoyed. An evocative setting and mythology and decent rules.

Over 40 years there have been several. The one that comes to mind is the finale from my Iron Heroes game.
The Demon King, a melee tank, fails to run over the Archer and is knocked prone. The Archer steps up and unleashes a volley of arrows into him, standing over him.

Ten Candles.
I played a few years ago and loved the way the candles went out and the light diminishing played with mood and tension.
I am not normally a horror RPG guy, but it was a great experience.

Underground once again.
I would like an updated system but keep the same setting with minor updates and fixes.

I don’t have a specific game, but my favorite sheets are PbtA playbooks.
I love how character gen, play, and advancement is all combined on one sheet.

There are so many.
The ones that I want to get to the table the most:
Cartel
Twilight 2000 (the new one)
Mutants in the Now
Those are games I would like to get to the table in the near future.

It’s the same game, Swords Without Master.
The mechanics are simple, roll a few dice. The procedures of the game are complex. Hold the dice here, roll there, pass now, etc.
I always struggle to keep the procedures straight.
That said, I love the game.

Everything about this book is cool. The artwork is amazing. The layout was excellent. The sidebars with hyperlinks… all cool.
The book was a full, color, glossy book in 1993 which was also something that was not common.
As looks go it was cool as hell.

I bought Jason Morningstar’s copy of The Mountain Witch after an informal G+ auction and @seannittner.bsky.social brokered the deal at GenCon.
My second best was getting a 1st edition copy of The Whispering Vault at a GenCon auction.

Tales From The Loop.
I loved the setting. The artwork is evocative. The mechanics were solid and the publishing quality is superb.
I ran a wonderful campaign of Tales that was a mix of the published material and my own.

I will still be playing RPGs in my retirement. It is doubtful any of them will be games that are 20’years old.
I don’t play anything that is 20 years old now.

I am big fan of DCC adventures and of those The One Who Watches From Below is one of my favorites.
It is 1st level Adventure that never feels like one. It has a unique mechanic that makes for a fun time 👀 (no spoilers).

This one is hard for me. I don't hold loyalty to any given system, so I don't have a favorite system, all-time.
Today, my favorite system is Cortex Prime. I'm running three different campaigns in it, and I love the toolkit style of how the Mods and the Prime Sets work

There are so many great adventures published for this game, for these versions.
I have run a number of one shots and even one campaign. One of my favs was “Me And My Shadow Mark IV”.
