On 28. Jan 2026, 21 students from Czech universities participated at the Student Catalytic Seminar, taking place at @masarykuniversity.bsky.social. Our 3rd year BSc. student, Petr Vítek gave a lecture, which was recognized as one of three best presentations of seminar.

👩‍🔬Elen Flanderková, a student at Gymnázium Omská, has started an internship in the Open Science 2026.

In her project, “Subnanometer clusters as high-performance catalysts”, she will study atomically precise subnanometer clusters and their use in industry-relevant reactions, supervised by Petr Vítek.

🎊 Success of our student at Student Scientific Conference at UCT Prague 👨‍🔬

Our 3rd year Bc. student, Petr Vítek, presented in the Chemical Engineering I section titled “Atomically Precise CuPd Pentamer Clusters for Catalytic Dehydrogenation of Cyclohexene”, which earned him a 1st place award.

🔬✨ We were glad to welcome Dr. Soňa Ehlerová, member of the Academic Council of @akademievedcr.bsky.social, to our Nanocatalysis Labs on Nov 7. An astrophysicist studying the Milky Way and star formation, she explored our nanocatalyst research led by Štefan Vajda. ⚗️🌱

💡✨️ During the Week of the Academy of Sciences 2025, we opened the doors of the Department on Nanocatalysis to visitors!
Our bachelor student, Petr Vítek gave an excellent tour of our laboratories on Thursday 8th of November, explaining how we prepare and study catalysts at the nanoscale. ✨️🗣
