You can't hold onto your previous handle. But, you can always claim it and use another email address. Then pin a post that says you're using your domain name as your handle, and link to it.

If someone did that it wouldn't go well.

First, the company or brand would complain to Bluesky, especially if they owned the trademark. I'm sure Bluesky would remove it.

And, if the company or brand has a domain block in place via Nameblock,, well, it wouldn't be registered in the first place.
