Whenever I see someone still openly describing themselves as “liberal” in 2025 I assume they most likely have some kind blatantly pro-Fascist or anti-intellectual take they throw around. I legit saw someone who said he would vote Mussolini over Hitler because “at least Mussolini didn’t have camps”.

Are you criticising me or the initial guy? Because you are right, Communism itself is a theoretical economic system, however the Marxist philosophy that pushes it covers a far broader spectrum of positions than just the economy.

By no definition of the word is Trump a Communist. Communists are the people who perform attacks on ICE agents and have historically organised riots and disruption to try and force the rights of POC, LGBT+ and women. Trump is a reactionary billionaire who got in power democratically

He’s a billionaire who proved successful through splitting the working class and appealing to business owners, while Communism fundamentally sees worker unity as desirable. On top of that his supporter base are more broadly a right-populist coalition, while Communists are far-left
