Some of the models, even tho they were low-poly with like 300–500 tris each, had so many instances that the scene was packing an extra +5–10k. Add in a fancy fence with twisted planks and posts, bark on trees, and other eye-candy... yeah

Threw some nice optimizations on mobile platforms and immediately saw the FPS increase and memory decrease at the same time.
