Medical research infrastructure and politics were already showing its profound fissures and internal contradiction under the crisis of the COVID pandemic, that it was not up to the task. I think we need to study this political and historical context to figure out how to salvage and rebuild it

It's for real paralyzing! definitely for us novices, but sounds like maybe disorienting for everyone. thinking a lot about how we are building out, amplifying and strengthening the structures, outlets and people who are not complicit
