I am your constituent and I want you to call loudly and clearly for Mr. Hegseth’s resignation!

I just got hold of a Tillis staffer on the phone (a rare occurrence: 95% of the time it’s the answering machine) and told him that since his boss is uniquely responsible for Hegseth’s confirmation, he needs to call for Hegseth’s resignation TODAY!

Why not Republicans too? Why not my Senator Thom Tillis, who knew that Hegseth was a terrible choice but was too weak to vote against him? Call for his resignation now Sen. Tillis! Are you going to go off into retirement as a complete coward or as someone who finally stood up for our Constitution?

And this message is from me and me alone: get the fuck out of my state.

Yup, my Senator Thom Tillis is a perfect example. Silence is complicity. I have to assume he supports a preschool teacher being ripped out of her classroom in front of small children by armed, masked men because he has not indicated otherwise.

I'd say that you can find good in many people who voted for Trump, but you won't find it in their reasons for voting for Trump or in their ideas about politics.

I know Trump voters who can be kind and generous and loving. If you ask why they voted for Trump they'll give you misinfo and bigotry.

This is a good way to put it. I'm not going to write anyone off as an irredeemable human being but as a political matter, the American right is animated by bigotry and misinformation. It just is.
