The people who designed and built this API deserve a lot of money. I know it seems excessive, but I can't think of anything more influential these days. It seems so obvious in hindsight.

I must confess that I don't understand the value of speculative design practice. More specifically, I think it's basically useless.
You can't just design products for the future without considering social, economic, and technological constraints.

Sometimes I think about the design work of Twitter just before the Musk takeover.
It felt clean and polished, but sadly it was never released. Getting rid of that work altogether was a complete waste of talent.
