In Winchester, I spoke with Dr. Ollie Taylor, Head of Visitor Experience and Exhibitions at Winchester Cathedral (www.winchester-cathedral.org.uk/event/ja250/) and visited No. 8 College Street (open to the public for the first time), where Austen spent the final weeks of her life.

In July, I traveled to England to visit Steventon, where Jane Austen was born and lived much of her youth, Jane Austen’s House and Chawton House, Winchester, where Austen died and is buried, and Southampton, where Austen lived and visited.
