And, since tariffs are mostly taxes on businesses , giving corporate money to the masses is redistribution of wealth. That's socialism.
NEW: Tariffs are unpopular, prices are still stubbornly high and Americans are souring on Trump's handling of the economy. So, now, he's promising cash -- tariff rebates and other money in a bid to assuage restless voters.

Democrats never had a chance to win anything in shutting down government. But, the longer they go, they worse they look--and they give Trump a chance to be the hero and save the day if he can overcome his revulsion to welfare. Fold now and claim a lame victory instead of letting voters go hungry.
Republican leaders in Congress said it’s all or nothing on Wednesday as they rejected a Democratic push to carve out funding to continue food aid for more than 40 million Americans who stand to lose it as part of the government shutdown.

Wow. A few R's actually voted to end some of Trump's tax increases. Maybe a small number still believe in lower taxes.
The #Senate passed SJ Res 81, terminating the national emergency declared to impose duties on articles from Brazil, 52-48.

GOP in favor: Collins, McConnell, Murkowski, Paul & TIllis.

No further votes tonight.

Translation: He is increasing taxes by 10% on Americans who import Canada-made goods. Most tax-loving President in American history.

Hypocrisy is always ugly.
Vice President JD Vance downplayed criticism over a fake video of Democratic lawmakers that President Trump posted online, saying the depiction of one party leader in a sombrero and another seeming to deliver a profanity-laced tirade was “funny.”

More new taxes. Why? Trump taxes like a Democrat, and his faithful think it's great.

Breaking news: South Korean workers who were detained in a large-scale immigration raid at a Hyundai factory in Georgia last week will be released and flown home as part of a deal with the United States, the country’s presidential office said.

Republicans: the party of hate, threats, and bullying. Democrats: the party of anything goes and no central theme, out of touch with 70% of America. Americans: the losers and owners of a slowly decaying republic.

90% of what Trump does is done in an unloving manner. Phase funding out or stair-step it down so that other provision can be made for basic human needs. Don't play God and pull the plug. This is not okay.

Mental health treatment, like immigration, needs a comprehensive legislative and executive policy. Congress has failed for decades on both fronts. I don't have confidence in this administration, but the executive branch has to do something since Congress keeps doing nothing.

Easy to keep the money out of the gov's hands--don't pass the school bus. It's not hard. Anyone who is a bad enough driver to pass the flashing lights is someone we don't need driving anywhere near us. Get the bad and unlicensed drivers off the road.

His is a completely false gospel, but it is the inability or refusal of others to see that Trump is the center of his own religion that is problematic. Many call themselves "Christian" but are not following Jesus. They are following Trump. Sadly, pastors are not telling them otherwise.
