The version he did on Saturday Night Live was so good. They have a CD of SNL musical guest stars I found in the bargain bin at Big Lots for like $2. It was a treasure.
Someone ran off with it and I had to rebuy it at regular price - darn it!

It is a hydrangea tree. They bloom right away. I grew up in Kentucky where Redbud trees- Cercis canadensis - grow like weeds. Some of them bloom white. I considered digging one up from the side of the hwy, but figured not getting arrested would be better, and bought one from a mail order nursery.

Beautiful color saturation in the blooms. They do get bigger. That will be spilling into your walkway as they reach maturity over a few yrs. Below are a couple of pics to show scale. The first photo is in spring when they first come back up and the second one is later in summer the same year.

Excellent. They bloom from spring to frost and are hardy once established. The Rozannes don’t sucker or spread (so far, and its been at least 15 years). They really are a carefree plant. I have 2 in front of my birdbath - purple flowering plants below.

Start with small good things. I made a double batch of plain and chocolate chip belgian waffles to give 1/2 to a friend who just had surgery. I am going to have dark roast coffee, a chocolate chip waffle with a little raspberry jam this AM and then work on my ‘no kings’ poster for the 18th. 🙂
