Loved your post! I understand exactly how you feel about peopling. I was also in my teens in the 80s and have lost friends and classmates to HIV/AIDS. I feel your ambivalence about remembering/forgetting. Thanks for sharing!

I completely understand. I just lost my Venus, who was with me for over 17 years. I'm snuggling with Trixie, giving Milky Way lots of love, and hanging out with Andi, but there is a hole where she used to be.

I agree. I used a crochet pattern in my middle English class grammar lesson once to demonstrate that all languages (even crochet) have to follow rules to make it make sense.
