Add Mary Roach to my author list, I will buy the latest no matter what it’s about. She makes me laugh.

I love going to a new bookstore and picking out something exciting to read. But I also like having 2 books waiting for me on the porch after a long day. #booksky #whichisbetter

I’m in a great stretch of outstanding reads. Just started the latest by Scott Reintgen and it is a blast already. I’m thankful for whoever recommended the first in the series. #booksky #dragons #scifi

I’m thinking if I ignore this long enough, I’ll be able to pick blackberries right from the porch.

About to watch the Blue White game, but there’s no RJ Davis for the first time since before Covid. #weird #GoHeels

It is amazing how much I enjoyed My Friends by Fredrik Backman. I’ve enjoyed his other books but this one was simply outstanding. Highly recommended. #booksky

Fredrik Backman does a great job of hooking me from the very first page. Still watching the game but glad to have this to offset my frustration.

My Heels may be losing, but I’ve been stockpiling books for just such a distraction. What do I feel like next?

Anybody else have an issue with getting halfway through a book and the page being half gone? Called the @barnesandnoble.com 800 number for help and was told to drive it back to the store I bought it. Not happy about that. #booksky #weird #customerservicefail

Here’s where I am so far. I’ve disrupted 2 other rooms, but this one is pleasing. And now I’ve got room for future finds.

The blank canvas currently occupying my brain and paralyzing me from action. So many possibilities. I know there will be one Carolina shelf and one tree shelf. Maybe a math. Seems like a nonfiction side is forming. #booksky #goodproblems

Finally reading The Measure by Nikki Erlick. It’s been great so far. I still can’t figure out how I missed it when it originally came out. #Booksky

Started trimming low branches of a Savannah Holly and ended up pulling/lopping this big pile of volunteers. I was expecting the privet, persimmon, and box elder. Was not expecting the large ashes, the number of oak seedlings, nor the beauty berries. #overdue #plants #trees

Finishing the last of my Mt Olive Bread & Butter pickles. Is there a prize for finishing the whole jar?

Though my kids didn’t approve, went with my split loyalties outfits for the two games #Yankees vs #Reds
Wasn’t the only one 😬

I’m not a kid anymore but it was an absolute blast seeing Aaron Judge and Elly De La Cruz homer in the same game Monday night. I can’t afford many live games but glad I was present for #Reds and #Yankees

Visited the Friends of the Library store in Cincinnati. Limited myself to these great finds. What a great time. #booksky

Was “upgraded” to a Mustang convertible while in town. Seemed like a fun idea. Turns out I’m not convertible people. Ready to get back in my 2006 Tundra. #cars

Went back to the book I was reading and found this paragraph from “The Book of Doors” by Gareth Brown on the 2nd page of the chapter. Sounds about right. Crazy timing.

Watching the NFL draft is the perfect companion to reading. Nearing the end of these 2 excellent books, with the picks every 10 minutes. Even better than a baseball game. #booksky

I just planted another one, part of my birthday haul from UNC-Charlotte’s spring plant sale.
Didn’t know I missed Basswood day by a few.
