One of the central achievements of the Affordable Care Act was to *raise* the Medicaid eligibility threshold to 133% of the federal poverty level—because everyone understood that there are plenty of folks who couldn't otherwise afford health care even though they're just over that (arbitrary) line.

We certainly live in confusing times. There are reports that Stephen Miller’s wife has left him for Elon Musk and I honestly can’t say whether that is a step up or a step down for her.
