Based on our autotrophic yeast, we demonstrate the production of > 10 g/L itaconic acid directly from CO2. Great work by Özge Ata and her team, achieved by interlinked strain and process design.

I use to take my watercolors with me when traveling, and I sketch lot of the scenery, and use some of these (plus photos) as inspiration for acrylic paintings later

Some stages of the work. I follow an intuitive process. Here I primed the ground with dilute paint and then sketched with a watercolor pencil.

While transforming these sectors has the potential to save nearly half of the human made CO2 emissions, the energy demand would be huge, and varying by sector. Remember, re-using carbon from CO2 inevitably costs energy for the reduction steps.
