Georgie and I were walking across the street when a truck without its blinker on almost ran over us. Inside our neighborhood. I had to run to keep my dog from getting hit and myself. This is not an auspicious beginning to the day. I’m considering cancelling everything.

Rural America is vanishing because it has voted against its economic interests for decades in order to pursue a backward social agenda. It voted itself out of the middle class, and now wants to blame others.

I don’t think socials allow real communication. If they did, they’d be improving actual social discourse instead of further dividing everyone.

I love cards. I don’t love playing cards online. I miss the riffle and banter, the smell of cards and ashtrays, the feel of them in your hand. I was playing cards from a very young age. I learned poker, cribbage, gin and spades from different old folks along with anecdotes and attitudes. Priceless.
