Even when I was unemployed he was dead set against me trying to get on at the bomber plant. in retrospect that is one of the few things I appreciate he did. 2/2

Of course my dad might have been rationalizing why he didn't get the promotion 😉. Seriously though, you have to have special skills to work in that environment that aren't transferable to the civilian world. Dad tried, when he got laid off, but ended up moving to another division 1/2

A hidden issue is the hiring of retired senior officers in senior management position NOT for their competence, but for their GOOD OLD BOY network, so my departed DAD would say..... 😂
