We need to get rid of waste, fraud, and abuse.
Democrats have been vilifying the ultra rich, understandably so, but we might need to change the perspective to focus on people who have money like that. We talk so much about how we need to do things for the common man, so how do we convince a few selected rich who DO work for common man to help?

A television station in Australia broadcasted a report from the LA ICE raids with military escalation, but they called it the No Kings Day protests, making it seem that No Kings was violent. Wish I could correct them.

A bit of math here (I don't do math, but used a calculator): 3.5% of the US population can save our democracy. That is 12,215,000 people. Divide through 2,000 No Kings Day rallys (there were more) means 6,108 people per rally. I think we made it, folks!

Let me see if I understand this. Donald Trump apparently entered into a contract with the president of El Salvador for the US to pay them $6 million in exchange for them to hold prisons in their prison. Did Congress authorize that expenditure? Aren't these "prisoners" still under control of the US?

Closing the Dept of Ed would be a DISASTER!!! We can't leave it up to states who can barely pay for essentials. Personally, I think curriculum should be determined nationally to allow equitable education nationwide.

This needs to be publicized! Any independent media creators here who could help? MeidasTouch Network? Brian Tylor Cohen? David Pakman? This has ramifications for every community with a public library!

The EU should approach Ukraine to make a deal to exchange aid to Ukraine by purchasing those rare earth minerals. Sounds like a plan to me.

Deportation raids are already taking their toll. People are avoiding going to work or school, fearing they will be deported. Their work goes undone, and their tax money stops. Gov employees are leary to make waves, fearing they will be terminated. DEI workers are being forced to resign. Ugh.

This madness has to stop! The actions and attacks are coming so fast that we have no ability to process. I feel paralyzed with fear. I feel like the ship is sinking, and I can't get off. I need to feel like the fight is doing SOMETHING to stop these maniacs!

Slowly, I am making the transition away from FB. Many of my friends (elderly) won't come here because they don't know how to do it (and aren't comfortable learning). Anyone else have this issue? Also, are there interest groups here, like on FB?

I need to be more active here and get off FB. I'm tired of the attitude there--not my friends, but groups I belong to. I post my opinion, and they (probably MAGA) call me toxic and a narcissist when I express my perspective.

I have been trying to stay informed about plans the incoming administration has for the country by watching independent media on YouTube (don't have cable). But I'm beginning to wonder if that is a good idea. My anxiety levels are sky high! I hate the thought of what seems to be coming.

I know I don't have many followers here (yet), but I am making my first post. Just an observation, but as Trump is picking his cabinet, it seems each pick is worse than the previous. So, what is the end game? What does MAGA gain by destroying the country? There won't be anything left to lord over.
